Debited Twice and Unauthorized Loan on My OPay Account – Need Help

Debited Twice and Unauthorized Loan on My OPay Account – Need Help — 1 of 3
1 / 3

On June 4, 2026, I used my OPay app to transfer ₦15,000 for meat. My account is secured by fingerprint and I was asked to open my mouth and nod for verification. When I checked later, I saw two debits of ₦15,000 each. Worse, a ₦50,000 loan from EasyMoni was taken and withdrawn from my account. I reported the theft through the app but haven’t received any response. My phone can only be unlocked by my fingerprint, so no one else could have accessed it. What other steps can I take to recover my money? I really cannot afford to lose these funds.

It seems odd that fingerprint and facial verification could be bypassed so easily for both transfer and loan approval.

I understand your concern, it really is worrisome that biometric checks can fail so easily for both transfers and loan approvals.

Maybe the user missed a hidden setting or prompt, not necessarily OPay's fault. Double-check app permissions and alerts.

Reach out to OPay support with transaction IDs immediately, and consider freezing your account as you await resolution.
