Katsina Police Nab Supplier Fueling Bandits’ Drug Trade

Katsina Police Nab Supplier Fueling Bandits’ Drug Trade

Katsina State police have arrested a suspected drug supplier linked to armed bandits in Funtua and nearby communities. Operatives from the Central Police Station, Funtua, trailed the suspect, identified as Sunday Eze, known as Dunbuje. He was detained around 5:00 p.m. on July 15 following intelligence-led operations. A search recovered 500 tablets of D5, an illicit substance believed meant for distribution to bandits and other criminal groups terrorising the area. The suspect remains in custody as investigators work to dismantle his network and trace his source of supply.

I'm not convinced this high-profile arrest will reduce bandit drug trade when other suppliers can easily fill that gap in remote villages.

Local vigilance groups should report suspicious fuel or drug movements immediately, and authorities ought to strengthen night patrols around known bandit hideouts.
