Portable Challenges Terry G to Boxing Match, Says It Will Revive His Career
Nigerian street-pop star Portable has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging fellow musician Terry G to a one-on-one boxing bout. He made the announcement during an appearance on a popular TV talk show, insisting a fight with him would bring Terry G back into the limelight. Portable dismissed talk of facing social media personality VeryDarkMan, declaring, “Terry G, I want to fight Terry G. One fight with me in boxing, I swear to God he will rise again.” He also outlined his fight calendar, including a rematch with actor Charles Okocha on July 31 and plans to take on Terry G after returning from a London trip. Portable named the US, Russia, Malaysia, Dubai and South Africa as stops on his 2026 music tour. The Zazuu crooner claims he’s the face of Nigerian boxing, pointing to his music fame as the driving force behind celebrity boxing in the country. He says he’s already collected ₦50 million towards a ₦150 million purse for his Okocha rematch.
