Mahama: Paying Contractors Boosts Economy—even ‘Side Chicks’ Profit
In a recent speech, Ghana’s President John Mahama highlighted how paying government contractors fuels the wider economy. He explained that when contractors receive their dues, they can purchase vehicles, which supports car dealers. Part of the earnings also goes to spouses, hairdressers, tailors, jewellers and even ‘side chics’. Mahama called prompt payment an “important avenue” for money to circulate through small businesses and individuals.
