Super Eagles Prospect Yohanna Reveals Why He Snubbed Chelsea and Man City for Brighton

Brighton’s new signing, 18-year-old Zadok Yohanna, has explained why he chose the Seagulls over interest from heavyweights Chelsea and Manchester City. The Nigerian winger left AIK Stockholm after a blistering start to the season and signed a long-term deal on the South Coast. Yohanna says his regular Premier League viewing guided his decision. He believes Brighton’s track record of integrating young talent will suit his direct style and help him fulfil his potential at the top level. Leaving Stockholm was bittersweet after a nurturing spell, but Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler’s clear development plan sealed the move. Hürzeler promised to ease Yohanna into the first team and mapped out a path for his progress. The promising winger is determined to work hard and fight for trophies as he embarks on this next chapter in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.

Do you think it was Brighton's style of play or clear path to first-team football that attracted him?

Interesting he turned down two giants so early in his career despite impressive start at AIK Stockholm.

I'm not convinced Brighton offers better development than City or Chelsea academies at his stage.

Brighton must focus on giving Yohanna consistent minutes so he can build confidence and adapt to Premier League demands.
