Reps to Host Peace Dialogue Today on Jos Unrest
The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on Security will convene a one-day dialogue in Abuja today to address recent violence in Jos. The meeting aims to identify the root causes of the Plateau crisis and develop practical, sustainable solutions. Violence in Jos began with planned attacks by gunmen and escalated through reprisals. Key stakeholders—including government officials, former governors, traditional rulers, security agencies, civil society organisations, religious bodies, academia and the public—are invited under the theme “Restoring Stability and Unity.” A communique outlining recommendations will be issued at the end of the conference.
