How Tinubu Can Intentionally Boost Women's Leadership
For decades Nigeria has called for gender equality in governance. Yet women still struggle to access the networks, funding, mentorship and political structures that produce leaders. True progress requires more than quotas and campaigns. It demands deliberate power sharing. Influential figures must mentor, fund and endorse capable women. History shows women like Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Ibukun Awosika can excel when given opportunities. If Tinubu and others actively support female candidates, we can imagine women in top offices. Competence must remain central. These efforts are not charity but strategic nation-building. When those who control power create space, Nigeria’s future leadership can be more balanced and inclusive.
