UNIZIK Lecturers Encouraged to Embed Enterprise Skills Across All Courses
Dr. Ifeanyi Nuel Okoli, facilitator at a three-day workshop organised by TETFund and the National Universities Commission, urged teaching staff at Nnamdi Azikiwe University to integrate enterprise education across all disciplines. He highlighted that graduates from STEM, creative arts, and humanities often launch high-growth ventures driven by entrepreneurial skills. Okoli distinguished enterprise education—focused on ideation and practical competencies—from entrepreneurship training on starting and scaling ventures. He also introduced the five effectuation principles: Bird-in-Hand, Affordable Loss, Crazy Quilt, Lemonade, and Pilot-in-the-Plane. The workshop, held at the UNIZIK College of Postgraduate Studies auditorium, gathered over 100 lecturers from senior lecturer rank and below. It aims to boost student motivation, deepen learning, and enhance employability beyond traditional business courses.
