I overheard some friends discussing a guy who wants to marry an Igbo woman. They mocked him because he earns an irregular salary and only has a one-room flat. He argued that he is prudent and can provide daily meals and improve his situation. They warned that Igbo women value financial security and might leave if he cannot buy a car within a year. Yet I know cases where women marry men of modest means, especially within their own community. What have others experienced?
