Former Finance Minister Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji Dies

Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, has died. His family announced his death on Thursday. He served as Minister of Finance from 1990 to 1991 under the military administration of General Ibrahim Babangida. He was also Minister of State for Budget and Planning in 1988 and later served as Secretary to the Government of the Federation. He was widely regarded as an experienced public administrator whose career included several senior roles in Nigeria’s civil service.
