Kelechi Iheanacho Set to Extend Celtic Contract for Two More Years

Kelechi Iheanacho Set to Extend Celtic Contract for Two More Years

Kelechi Iheanacho looks set to sign a new two-year contract with Scottish champions Celtic, according to reports. The Nigeria striker impressed in his debut season after joining on a free transfer. He scored key goals against Kilmarnock, Dundee, Hibernian and Motherwell despite injury setbacks. Celtic boss Martin O’Neill has confirmed talks are ongoing and wants Iheanacho to join pre-season preparations early. Interest from clubs in Qatar and Turkey has not deterred him from committing his future to the Hoops.

I agree, keeping Iheanacho's goal threat and link-up play should give Celtic extra firepower to defend their title.

Scoring against mid-table sides like Kilmarnock and Dundee doesn't always guarantee consistent performance at a higher level.

Are we talking about consistency in the Premiership top clubs or in Europe when we question his scoring record?

Not sure they should tie him down for two more seasons when consistency still seems to be an issue.

Extending now makes sense, gives him stability and lets Celtic plan around his abilities for key matches next term.
