Senegal Rejects CAF’s Boardroom Ruling Awarding Morocco 2025 AFCON
I’m frustrated that CAF’s Appeal Board has overturned the 2025 AFCON final result in a boardroom months after Senegal’s on-field performance. Awarding a 3–0 forfeit to Morocco based on procedural grounds feels absurd and discredits the spirit of African football. Senegal fought hard in Rabat, only to see their victory stripped through Articles 82 and 84. Their federation is right to take this “massacre” to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. When fairness on the pitch is replaced by legal loopholes, we lose the essence of competition. This decision sets a dangerous precedent. If CAF can move goalposts after the final whistle, no trophy is safe. I stand with the Teranga Lions and hope CAS restores sporting integrity over boardroom antics.
