ISS Crew Shelters in Dragon Spacecraft After Air Leaks Detected
Astronauts aboard the International Space Station have moved into the docked SpaceX Crew Dragon as Russian cosmonauts carry out urgent repairs on air leaks in the Zvezda service module’s transfer tunnel. One leak in the tunnel’s conical section remains under repair but is not considered immediately dangerous. Cracks in the module have been managed with patches for years, yet a fresh pressure drop last month prompted this more extensive operation. NASA and Roscosmos teams are working together to find a permanent fix. Meanwhile, NASA directed its Crew-12 members to assume an elevated safety posture in the Dragon spacecraft until the repairs are complete.
