Stop Turning Nigeria’s Security Crisis into Political Theatre
Nigeria’s insecurity crisis demands serious solutions, not cheap slogans. Kidnappings, killings and attacks have caused real suffering and citizens are right to be outraged. Some opposition figures collapse legitimate protest into a single chant to remove the president. That approach lacks substance. A credible opposition should ask hard questions, demand accountability and present a concrete security plan. The government has not solved the problem, but it is misleading to claim nothing is being done. Recent reports show troops repelled major insurgent assaults and freed hundreds of kidnapped Nigerians. Those gains matter. Nigeria needs strategy, not slogans; resolve, not clout-chasing. Our nation in pain deserves more than political theatre.
