Super Eagles Earn ₦20.65 Million Each After AFCON Third-Place Prize
The NFF has released the Super Eagles’ share of AFCON prize money following their third-place finish in Morocco. Nigeria secured victory over Egypt on penalties to reach the semi-finals and collected $2.5 million for the achievement. Under a prior agreement, 30% of the team’s earnings was earmarked for the players. Each squad member received $15,000 (about ₦20.65 million). A senior NFF official confirmed the payments were made without delay. Attention now turns to upcoming fixtures. The team will reconvene in May for the Unity Cup in London, facing Jamaica, Zimbabwe and India, and will play friendlies against Portugal and Poland in June.
