Obinna Ogba Declares for NFF First Vice President Race, Promises Football Revival
Senator Obinna Ogba, chairman of Abakaliki FC and the Ebonyi State Football Association, says he will contest for First Vice President at the Nigeria Football Federation elective congress in Lafia on 26 September 2026. Ogba, a retired referee and former Senate Committee on Sports chairman, says his experience in football administration and sports legislation qualifies him for a place on the NFF executive board. He said his priority would be helping to restore Nigerian football's competitiveness. He also criticised the recent performances of Nigeria's national teams, including youth sides and the Super Falcons. Ogba is expected to face other football administrators in the contest for the vice-presidential position.
