Delta Police Arrest ASP for Killing Handcuffed Suspect in Viral Video
The Delta State Police Command has arrested ASP Nuhu Usman and transferred him to Abuja after a video showed him shooting a handcuffed suspect in Effurun. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Mene Ogidi, was arrested for allegedly transporting a loaded Beretta pistol. Video footage captured by a bystander revealed the suspect pleading for his life before he was shot. The state Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that Usman has been moved to the Force Headquarters to face the Disciplinary Committee and prosecution. The Commissioner of Police condemned the killing and offered condolences to the victim’s family. The Command reiterated its commitment to professionalism and respect for human rights and urged the public to remain calm as justice is pursued.
