The University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association, Awka Branch, has elected Professor Nkechinyere Nwokoye as president for a four-year term. The election took place on August 5, 2026, during the branch's general meeting at the Dulce Centre in Awka. Members voted by secret ballot, with the contest for public relations officer among the positions decided. Nwokoye thanked members for their support and called for unity and a stronger membership drive among UNN alumni in Awka and beyond. Ugochukwu Anigbogu and Barrister Joy Edeogu retained their positions as secretary and legal adviser, respectively, while Comrade Uchenna Ezeadigwe emerged as the new public relations officer.
