Flutterwave Tops 1 Billion Transactions and Processes Over $40 Billion
Ten years after launch, Flutterwave has passed the milestone of one billion transactions and handled more than $40 billion in payments. This achievement underscores how Africa’s digital finance infrastructure is finally scaling to meet mobile-first consumer demand. Over the past year, wallet-based volumes soared 289% while bank transfers grew 184%. The company now supports payments in over 50 global currencies and secured new licences in Senegal, Zambia, and Cameroon, creating a strong regulatory moat. Flutterwave also added stablecoin settlement rails through partnerships with Circle and Polygon to speed up cross-border transfers. Its acquisition of open banking startup Mono strengthens data access and identity verification capabilities. Looking ahead, the firm aims to further empower African businesses in global commerce.
