Anambra Youth Commissioner Unveils Plan to Create Young Millionaires and Boost Grassroots Sports
Patrick Agha Mba, newly confirmed Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports in Anambra State, has promised to deepen youth empowerment and expand sporting opportunities across the state. He says the government will move beyond temporary support by redefining empowerment through practical programmes aimed at producing “young millionaires.” The plan includes skill development, enterprise support and partnerships with private sponsors to grow local businesses. On sports, the commissioner intends to strengthen talent discovery at the grassroots. He plans to establish youth and sports departments in all 21 local government councils, set up sports academies and align training with international standards. Mba emphasises collaboration with community groups and existing technical teams to ensure sustainable programmes that will drive economic growth and open new opportunities for Anambra’s youth.
