Police Stop-and-Search in Aguda Uncovers Guns and Suspected Drugs

Police Stop-and-Search in Aguda Uncovers Guns and Suspected Drugs

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command arrested 22-year-old Olamide Suleiman during a routine stop-and-search along Adetola Road, Aguda. They recovered dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and a locally made pistol loaded with one live cartridge. Under interrogation, the suspect admitted the pistol belonged to a man known as Emir, who was staying at a nearby hotel. A follow-up search of the room yielded a double-barrel gun, but the principal suspect fled before officers arrived. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police praised the operatives’ vigilance and urged residents to keep providing credible information. Members of the public are encouraged to report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through the command’s emergency lines.

It's interesting that a locally made pistol and dry leaves were found during that search without any visible cause mentioned.
