Barr. Emeka Nwala received the Legislative Excellence in Institutional Development and Administration Award at the 2026 National Legislative Awards in Abuja. The ceremony, organised by a leading civic group, marked ten years of celebrating outstanding service in Nigeria’s legislative space under the theme “Where a Decade of Advocacy Meets a Night of Distinction.” Nwala was praised for strengthening parliamentary support systems in Nigeria and across Africa. His work as chairman of NASSLAF and president of AFPAA was singled out for advancing institutional reforms and capacity building. Other honourees included Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe and Ireti Kingibe, among others. Attendees called for continued innovation and collaboration to deepen democracy.
