Ashanti Man Arrested After Allegedly Stealing Police Armoured Vehicle — 1 of 3
1 / 3

A man identified as Ebenezer Frimpong has been detained after allegedly driving off in a Ghana Police Service armoured vehicle at Nkawie Market in the Ashanti Region. Authorities say the police driver briefly stepped away with the engine running in the busy market. Frimpong seized the opportunity, entered the vehicle and made off along the Nkawie–Mim route. Security operatives launched a swift pursuit and intercepted him near Mim. The armoured vehicle was recovered intact and returned to police custody. Frimpong remains in custody as investigators probe the full circumstances of the theft.
