Four Killed, Several Injured in Suspected Herders’ Attack on Benue Community
Four people, including a father and his two children, were reportedly killed in a late-night attack on Abaushwa community in Ndzorov, near Gbajimba in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. The attack reportedly occurred around 11 p.m. on August 3, 2026. Residents fled in panic as gunmen suspected to be armed herders invaded the area. Several other people were injured. Guma council chairman Maurice Orwough condemned the attack and said security personnel had been deployed to restore calm and prevent further violence. Residents were urged to cooperate with security agencies and provide useful information.
