NYSC Denies Approving ₦200 NANS Levy for Graduate Mobilisation

NYSC Denies Approving ₦200 NANS Levy for Graduate Mobilisation

The National Youth Service Corps has denied reports that it agreed with the National Association of Nigerian Students to collect a ₦200 levy from students for NYSC mobilisation. The scheme said it has never discussed, approved or signed any agreement with NANS or any other student body on a mobilisation-related payment. It stressed that graduates do not need to pay any levy to a student association before they can be mobilised. According to the NYSC, mobilisation is handled through official channels involving its management and Heads of Corps Producing Institutions, who provide graduates’ details. Prospective corps members have been advised to ignore claims linking any NANS levy to NYSC mobilisation.
