Cross-Petition Questions EFCC Case Over Disputed Abuja Property
A cross-petition has raised fresh questions over the EFCC prosecution linked to a disputed Abuja property at Plot 4022, Guzape. The petition alleges that Rebecca Omokamo Godwin-Isaac, 80, was named in the EFCC charge as the person allegedly deceived into paying ₦110 million to Rychado Homes Ltd, yet is also being prosecuted in the same matter. According to the petition, Rebecca paid for the property, spent about ₦12 million on site preparation and economic trees, then built and occupied a family home there. The petitioners allege that a forfeiture process was pursued in a way that could benefit a private claimant before the ownership dispute is resolved by the courts. The petition calls for an independent review of the competing title documents, the alleged original allottee, the chain of transactions and the roles of those named in the dispute. The claims have not been determined by a court, and the EFCC had not publicly responded to the specific allegations at the time of the report.
