Ibadan Book Club Honours Late Oba Olakulehin’s Legacy

We at the Ibadan Book Club express deep sorrow over the passing of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Olalere Owolabi Olakulehin, the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland. Though his reign was brief, Oba Olakulehin showed unwavering commitment to educational and cultural growth. He loved knowledge and championed Yoruba heritage, quietly supporting youth engagement and community development. Our next reading session will be dedicated to his memory. We will explore Yoruba history, share poems on Ibadan heroes, and discuss the role of traditional rulers in preserving literary culture. We send heartfelt condolences to the Olakulehin family, the Olubadan-in-Council, and all sons and daughters of Ibadanland. May his royal soul rest in peace, and may we carry his spirit of humility and wisdom forward.
