NDLEA Seizes 11kg of Skunk, Arrests Pastor and Wife in Lagos
NDLEA operatives at the Gbaji checkpoint in Lagos arrested Pastor Afolabi Hodonu and his wife, Mrs. Success Hodonu, after uncovering 11 kg of skunk hidden in the compartments of their SUV. This arrest followed the interception of a fake security agent carrying 24.5 kg of the drug at the same location just days earlier. In a related operation, officers at Murtala Muhammed International Airport recovered 3.10 kg of cocaine concealed in tins of palm kernel extract bound for the UK. Intelligence-led raids across the country also netted 48,000 tramadol pills in Adamawa, 1,378 kg of skunk from a warehouse in Edo State, and a mother in Ibadan using her young daughter to distribute narcotics. In Borno State, a suspected supplier to bandit groups was apprehended with 4.3 kg of synthetic cannabis. NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.) commended the officers involved and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to disrupting drug trafficking networks at all levels.
