Three Teenage Friends Drown at Andhra Pradesh Waterfall While Filming Video
Three girls from Jambuvalasa village drowned on April 9 while taking selfies at Mulagummi Waterfall in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantagiri hills. They stood on slippery rocks when one slipped into the shallow water and was swept away by a hidden current. Her three friends moved in to help but were also pulled under. None of the girls—Trisha (17), Ratnakumari (16) and Pavitra (16)—knew how to swim, officials said. A fourth friend who filmed the incident managed to survive and alert rescuers. Local residents rushed to the scene and saved the fourth girl, but the other three could not be revived. Police later recovered their bodies and warned visitors about the deceptively strong currents and slick terrain at even small waterfalls.
