I’d Rather Marry a Poor Man Than Be a Second Wife — Kunle Afolayan’s Daughter Eyiyemi

I’d Rather Marry a Poor Man Than Be a Second Wife — Kunle Afolayan’s Daughter Eyiyemi — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Eyiyemi Afolayan says she will never be a second or third wife. In a recent BBC Yoruba interview, she explained that she would rather marry a poor man than a rich one to avoid disrespect or infidelity. She added that she can’t build wealth with a man from scratch because some men forget the women who helped them once they become successful. She stressed that any partner must have a legitimate income and not rely entirely on her. Eyiyemi’s father, Kunle Afolayan, has publicly supported her and even cast her in his film Anikulapo. He celebrated her achievements when she turned 20, praising her singing and acting talent.
