Anambra Partners with Flutterwave to Expand Its Digital Economy

Anambra Partners with Flutterwave to Expand Its Digital Economy

The Anambra State Government has teamed up with Flutterwave to scale its digital economy framework. The partnership aims to boost e-commerce, strengthen digital payments, and broaden market access for businesses across Onitsha, Nnewi, Awka and other commercial hubs. Governor Chukwuma Soludo described the collaboration as a strategic move to formalise and grow the state’s emerging e-commerce ecosystem. He said the initiative will connect traders, artisans and small business owners to national and global markets through seamless transactions and improved digital participation. Under the agreement, the two parties will digitise payment systems for MSMEs, integrate logistics with payment platforms, and onboard more traders onto online marketplaces. The state also plans to invest in infrastructure that enables young entrepreneurs to build and scale their ideas without barriers. Anambra hopes this initiative will position it as a key digital commerce hub in Nigeria. Members of the state’s diaspora have also been invited to tap into these expanding opportunities and invest in the growing tech-driven economy.

I'd argue expanding digital payments alone won't ensure market access—for many traders, reliable internet and offline support remain crucial.

Local businesses should register on Flutterwave early, attend any state-run workshops and start integrating digital payment options immediately.
