Troops Raid Secret Arms Factory in Plateau, Recover Assault Rifles and Equipment

Troops Raid Secret Arms Factory in Plateau, Recover Assault Rifles and Equipment

Troops under Operation Enduring Peace raided a hidden arms factory in Gwandanu Village, Langtang North LGA, Plateau State, on Wednesday around 5 pm. Two suspects were arrested while fabricating sophisticated firearms. Authorities seized two AK-47 rifles, a G3 rifle and industrial machinery, including generators, welding and drilling machines. The operation continued into neighbouring Kaduna State, where soldiers at Gidan Waya repelled an assault on forest guards and local vigilantes. One assailant was captured and troops recovered an AK-49 rifle, a motorcycle and personal effects during the sweep of a Jaginde Forest hideout. Military officials say all three suspects are now being interrogated to map their distribution networks. Security forces have intensified mop-up operations across flashpoints and are urging the public to share timely intelligence to preempt further criminal activity.

It's interesting that authorities seized both AK-47 and G3 rifles, suggesting a higher level of technical skill within that illegal factory.

I'm not convinced this raid will halt the flow of illicit weapons if local networks remain unchallenged by broader intelligence efforts.

Make una community vigilance group report any strange manufacturing activity in rural areas to security agencies as soon as possible.
