Military Detains Over 10 Soldiers for Leaking Justice Crack’s Whereabouts

Military Detains Over 10 Soldiers for Leaking Justice Crack’s Whereabouts — 1 of 2
1 / 2

More than ten soldiers are being held in underground detention at the Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC) in Abuja. Military sources say they launched a secret operation targeting personnel accused of leaking details of social critic Chidiebere Justice Mark, known as Justice Crack, while he was in custody. Officials reportedly acted after videos emerged showing his vehicle in a military facility and public outrage grew over his disappearance. Sources told SaharaReporters that commanders feared leaks would frustrate plans to make the activist “disappear.” Rights lawyers have condemned the detentions and called on the Attorney-General to withdraw charges against Justice Crack. They argue his arrest and prosecution under the Cybercrimes Act amount to an abuse of power aimed at silencing dissent.

Do you think they traced phone records or set a clever sting to catch the leakers?

I'm not convinced it's only about leaking. Could it be a move to shore up internal discipline rather than hiding faults?

You're spot on—I'm curious if they wanted to set an example and tighten up security.

It's surprising they kept this operation so secret yet still ended up with multiple leaks about Justice Crack.

I'm not convinced detaining soldiers underground at the CIC in Abuja is the best way to handle leaks.

The military should review its internal protocols and improve security measures to prevent future leaks about sensitive operations.
