Police Nab Suspect Who Sent Gun Used in Effurun Youth’s Killing
Two suspects have been arrested over the movement of a Beretta pistol and ammunition linked to the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Oghenemine Ogidi in Effurun. Authorities say one of those detained arranged for the gun and four rounds of ammo to be sent from Yenagoa to Effurun. The firearm was later handed over to ASP Nuhu Usman, leading to Ogidi’s death at a motor park in Effurun. Investigators brought the suspects into the Effurun Area Command on Wednesday night. Police are still tracing other individuals involved in the delivery. Family members and online observers have raised concerns that Ogidi was extrajudicially killed. The Delta State Police Command has not yet issued an official statement on these arrests as the inquiry continues.
