I Paid ₦100m and They Locked Me Out—APC Aspirant Takes Party to Court
Ambassador Fubara Dagogo has filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja. He claims the All Progressives Congress blocked him from contesting after he paid over ₦100 million for expression of interest and nomination forms. Dagogo says he met all requirements but was denied access to the forms because some party officials feared he would defeat the incumbent. He named the APC, National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, National Vice Chairman (South-South) Victor Giadom and National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Argungu as defendants. The plaintiff is asking the court to nullify the South-South zonal congress results held without his participation. He is also seeking ₦100 million in damages for humiliation, emotional distress and mental anguish. The APC, through its counsel, has asked the court to strike out the case, arguing the suit has no merit.
