Akpabio Faces Legal Action as SERAP Demands Probe of ₦6.3bn Constituency Funds

SERAP has given Senate President Godswill Akpabio seven days to probe the alleged diversion of ₦6.3 billion in constituency project funds or face legal action. The group urged National Assembly leaders to refer the case to anti-corruption agencies and prosecute anyone found culpable. According to the organisation, money meant for public projects is being stolen and diverted into private accounts. In one instance, an agency allegedly credited ₦22 million each to certain officials without any valid purpose.
