Unity in Diversity at El-Amin’s 27th Graduation Ceremony

Unity in Diversity at El-Amin’s 27th Graduation Ceremony — 1 of 4
1 / 4

I attended the 27th graduation ceremony of El-Amin International School in Minna. The event celebrated secondary school graduates with colourful displays and a full house. Guests included former governors Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu and Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, the Emir of Minna and other dignitaries. Mahmud Magaji, SAN, launched the school magazine. Founded by the late Maryam Babangida, the school now thrives under the leadership of Dr Muhammad Babangida. Graduates came from every region of Nigeria and showcased diverse cultural dances. The Igbo performance stood out for its vibrancy and earned enthusiastic applause. Sokoto State–sponsored students also shone, winning awards for outstanding academic achievements. Listening to the valedictorian, Ayodeji, who joined in nursery and rose through all levels, was inspiring. His journey underlined the power of consistent quality education. The ceremony reinforced my belief that investing in learning drives both personal success and national progress.

It's interesting all those dignitaries showed up, but I wonder if students really felt the unity beyond colourful displays.

Did any student stories surface showing real unity, beyond all the pageantry and speeches?

I'm not convinced that a full house automatically means deeper community bonds at a school event.

Organizers could gather graduate feedback on cultural activities to ensure future events truly promote unity in diversity.
