I’ve always gotten VIP treatment when I buy food from my friend’s stall. He and his girlfriend used to give me the best meat portions. A few weeks ago I brought my new girlfriend along. They asked if she was my partner and she nodded. The next day, his girlfriend stopped smiling at me and became cold. She even refused to give me egg in my stew though it was there. Yesterday she greeted me and immediately asked, “Where is our new wife?” She seems obsessed with my relationship status. I just laughed it off, but I’m puzzled. Was she expecting me to stay single forever?
