PDP Appoints 15-Member Caretaker Committee After Dissolving Sokoto State Executive

On April 27, 2026, the PDP National Working Committee dissolved the Sokoto State Executive Committee under Article 29(2)(b) of the party’s constitution. A 15-member caretaker committee will manage party affairs for 30 days or until a new executive is elected. It is chaired by Hon. Hayatu Tafida, with Ahmed S. Pawa as Secretary. Other members include Garba M. Duka, Ibrahim Dagara, Hadiza Abubakar Tambuwal and ten colleagues. The committee’s mandate follows Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP Constitution. All appointments take immediate effect.
