Double Milestone: Professor Olatunji Delivers Lecture as He Turns 70 and Retires
Professor Isaac Ayodele Olatunji of the Federal University Oye Ekiti will deliver the institution’s 24th inaugural lecture today, May 26, 2026. The event doubles as a celebration of his upcoming 70th birthday and formal retirement two days later. Titled “Housing Care and Support for Nigerians: The Optimality Dimension to a Critical Real Estate Decision,” the lecture takes place at Senator Ndoma Egba Hall by 2:00 pm and will be presided over by Vice Chancellor Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole. A former Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management and one-time Head of Estate Management and Valuation at another federal university, Professor Olatunji practised estate surveying for over two decades before joining academia in 2005. He rose to full professor in 2020 and became a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers in 2004. Known as a “Pracademic” for his practice-driven teaching, he has led applied research projects on real estate valuation and helped establish the Students Village Land Allocation and Development Committee. He maintains that bridging theory and practice is key to solving Nigeria’s housing challenges.
