Plateau Polytechnic SUG Impeaches President, Two Others Over Alleged Fund Mismanagement
The Student Union Government Parliament of Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, has impeached the union president, financial secretary and treasurer over allegations of financial mismanagement and embezzlement of student union funds. A circular dated July 30, 2026, said the action followed resolutions of the Student Union House of Parliament and the completion of its legislative process under the SUG Constitution. Six other executive officers, including the vice president, secretary-general and welfare officer, were also denied Certificates of Service for allegedly failing to meet their constitutional responsibilities. All affected officials were directed to hand over union documents, records and assets immediately. The impeached officers had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of the report.
