FG Declares April 3 and 6 as 2026 Easter Holidays

The Federal Government has announced that Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, 2026 will be public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration. Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to reflect on the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance and love exemplified by Jesus Christ. He congratulated Christians in Nigeria and the diaspora on the joyous occasion. The minister called for unity and peaceful coexistence, stressing that tolerance and community spirit are vital for national progress. He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to policies that drive economic growth and shared prosperity. Christians are wished a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration as the nation pauses to observe Good Friday and Easter Monday.
