Pregnant Woman Arrested for Allegedly Supplying Batteries and Torches to Boko Haram in Borno
Troops in Borno state detained a 28-year-old pregnant woman on July 13 over alleged attempts to deliver flashlights and batteries to Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters. The arrest took place during a routine checkpoint along the Mandaragirau–Biu road. Security officials discovered 17 torchlights and 19 Tiger batteries hidden in her clothing. The suspect was immediately taken into custody while authorities examine how the items were to be distributed. This action forms part of Operation Hadin Kai’s ongoing mission to sever logistics channels feeding insurgent groups in the northeast and to uphold heightened readiness against unpredictable threats.
