Rivers Youth Leader Demands Makinde Retract UN Probe Opposition and Apologise to President Tinubu

Rivers Youth Leader Demands Makinde Retract UN Probe Opposition and Apologise to President Tinubu

A prominent Rivers State youth leader has urged Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to withdraw his recent remarks opposing the United Nations’ planned investigation into the abduction of students. He described the governor’s position as “unfortunate and ill-advised,” and called for an immediate retraction and an unreserved apology to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The activist stressed that student safety must be the top priority. He warned that Makinde’s comments could be seen as defending kidnappers and undermining efforts to end banditry and abduction in the Southwest. He added that true leadership starts at home, urging the governor to “redeem your state first before pointing fingers elsewhere.”
