Gunmen Kill Youth Leader in Fresh Attack on Benue Community
A youth leader, Sunday Ogoh, was shot dead during a dawn raid on Ondo community in the Ugboju district of Otukpo Local Government Area, Benue State. The assault happened around 5am on Tuesday, July 14, just 48 hours after gunmen killed 18 people in the nearby Otukpo-Nobi community. Witnesses say the attackers opened fire indiscriminately, killing one person outright and critically injuring another. The Otukpo LGA chairman confirmed the incident and said combined security forces repelled the assailants. A manhunt for the attackers is now underway, and many residents have fled their homes in fear.
