Ekiti Police Arrest Three Suspects, Recover 16 ATM Cards in Ado-Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested three men suspected of operating an ATM card theft and fraud syndicate in Ado-Ekiti. Police said Rapid Response Squad operatives acted on intelligence about suspicious activity at the Wema Bank ATM gallery in Okesa on August 8. The suspects allegedly tried to flee on a motorcycle but were intercepted in the Basiri area. A search reportedly recovered 16 ATM cards belonging to different banks and individuals. Investigators said the suspects allegedly swapped or stole cards from ATM users before withdrawing money from victims’ accounts. The police said investigations are continuing to identify other possible members of the syndicate. Residents were advised to stay alert at ATM points and report suspicious activity.
