Manchester Drivers Jailed After High-Speed Crash Kills Nigerian Man
A driver and his passenger in Manchester have been sentenced after a high-speed crash claimed the life of 50-year-old Nigerian commuter Sylvester Abayomi. Uways Hussain received 11 years and eight months for causing death by dangerous driving. His passenger, Usmon Mahmood, was jailed for 12 years and nine months for aiding and abetting the offence. Both men were filmed racing at over 130mph in a 30mph zone and inhaling nitrous oxide moments before the collision. The victim’s partner described Sylvester as a caring, hard-working man who never returned home that morning. Greater Manchester Police called it one of the worst instances of dangerous driving they had seen, while the judge condemned the defendants’ sustained, terrifying conduct as wholly unnecessary. I’m back to posting after taking a month off to mourn my sudden loss. Thank you to everyone who prayed for my family, and may God spare your loved ones from sorrow this year.
