Doma United Target NPFL Survival, Not Title Race, Says Coach Ayeni

Doma United coach Deji Ayeni says the newly promoted club will prioritise building a competitive squad and securing NPFL survival in the 2026/27 season, rather than pursuing the league title. Ayeni said the club is recruiting players from Nigeria and abroad, with pre-season matches helping the technical crew identify those suited to its style. He added that the team wants to become both competitive and commercially attractive. The coach also welcomed Doma United’s planned return to Pantami Stadium in Gombe after facility upgrades. The club will use the Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select tournament, the Gold Cup, the ValueJet pre-season tournament and a friendly against Enyimba to assess its squad.
