Meet Africa’s Youngest Mathematics PhD: The Journey of Dr. Hallowed Olaoluwa
Dr. Hallowed Oluwadara Olaoluwa earned his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Lagos at just 24, graduating with a perfect 5.00 CGPA in functional analysis and fixed point theory. Before that, he completed simultaneous BSc and MSc programmes in Mathematics and Physics at the University of Bangui, finishing with First Class Honours and Distinctions and winning top student awards by age 19. Born in 1989 to Nigerian missionary parents in Bangui, he passed the French Baccalauréat at 14 after four double promotions in primary and secondary school. He later held a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard, became a Next Einstein Forum Fellow, and now serves as a Senior Lecturer at UNILAG.
