APC Chairman: South-South Shifts Support from Peter Obi to President Tinubu

The APC National Chairman has claimed that the South-South region, which strongly backed Peter Obi and the PDP in 2023, now fully supports President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 polls. He argued during a recent interview that areas once influenced by religious sentiment in states like Plateau and Nasarawa have realigned with the ruling party. He said today’s governors, senators and lawmakers in those states now back Tinubu. Yilwatda pointed to the APC’s growing list of governors and National Assembly members as proof of the party’s rising influence since the last election. These claims, however, remain unverified by election results or declarations from all regional leaders.
